Bridesmaid Special Responsibilities and Expectations
Being a bridesmaid is a special responsibility that shouldn’t be taken lightly. It is your friend or family member’s way of showing you how much you mean to them! Being a bridesmaid does come with a financial responsibility, as well. Lone Star Mansion wanted to highlight some of the expenses that you should expect at our mansion wedding venue. Keep in mind, these expenses wedding to wedding depending on what the couple chooses to pay for.
- You should expect to pay for your own bridesmaid dress. While it has been up in the air in the past, it is pretty consistent for the bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses now. Whether the dress is a specific one or a “stay in this color scheme,” your dress expense will fall on you.
- Overall, you should also expect to pay for anything beauty-wise. If everyone gets their nails done, this will be an expense that you should expect to cover. This is also typically the case if there is a make-up artist and hair stylist for the bridal crew. Sometimes the bride will cover this expense, especially if it is required. If it is your choice to get your hair and make-up done, though, it will definitely be your expense.
- Lastly, expect to pay for your day-of lodging. Sometimes everyone will stay at the bride’s parent’s house, or sometimes the parents will buy a hotel block for the bridal party for the night before, but this is not something that you should expect. If there is a shared AirBnb, for example, be ready to chip into the lodging fund!
Being a bridesmaid is such a fun and unique way to experience your friendship! Have fun with the task of standing next to your friend on her big day and don’t let finances get in the way of that.
