While the views set the Lone Star Mansion apart from other wedding venues in the State of Texas, what truly makes it captivating is the history of the venue itself.
From Humble Beginnings to a Passionate Wedding Destination
The Lone Star Mansion was originally built in the 1800s in Mississippi. During the 1980s, the building began to fall into disrepair. It was disassembled and moved to the State of Texas where it was rebuilt using the original floor plans and several of the original pieces, including the hardwood floors, the columns, the crown molding, and some of the doors and windows.
In 2004, native Texan, former owner and founder of the Lone Star Mansion, Patricia Sullivan made her dream to turn the Lone Star Mansion into a unique wedding venue a reality. She selflessly used the proceeds of the venue to support a non-profit school named, “Jeffrey’s Discovery,” (named after her son who had autism). This school specialized in giving autistic children a chance to learn in a safe and open environment that was also affordable to the student’s parents.
After a decade of running the Lone Star Mansion, Patricia decided it was time to dedicate herself to the study of autism and give more time to her son, Jeffrey.
Today, the Lone Star Mansion continues to be the ideal place for brides to enjoy the most important day of their life. With a vast background in hospitality and all-inclusive events, the current owner of the Lone Star Mansion, Clarabeth, carries on the legacy started by Patricia Sullivan.
Information About The Lone Star Mansion
The Lone Star Mansion is a popular wedding destination that offers unparalleled service for the bride and groom, ensuring their day is smooth and filled with magic. Once the bride and groom have determined that Lone Star Mansion is their perfect wedding venue, the “Day Of” Coordinator/Event Director will sit down with the bride and groom to work out the big day’s details!
The Event Director will coordinate everything from the pacing of the ceremony to the reception, working alongside your photographer and DJ to ensure that everything runs smoothly and there is no lag. This allows you to continue to be swept up in the moment of the big day instead of stressing.
The Bridal Dressing Room
Unlike other venues, the Lone Star Mansion does not allow double weddings to be booked on the site, meaning that you and your guests will be the only ones on the property. With a wide variety of amenities to make use of, there are a plethora of options that can help make each part of your special day truly memorable. Many brides start the day in our onsite Salon, where they can be pampered while enjoying the views out of the floor-to-ceiling windows. With the gorgeous natural light shining in, you can rest assured that you and your bridesmaids will look perfect. There is an attached spa that can be used for additional pampering, complete with a pedicure station. Once hair, nails, and makeup are complete, it is time to head to the gorgeous Dressing Room to put on your perfect dress.
The Groom’s Room
The groom hasn’t been forgotten either. While his bride and her ladies are getting ready, the groom can enjoy one last hurrah with his boys in the amazing Groom’s Room. Complete with a large wooden wet bar, pool table, 70” big screen TV, separate poker room, and large Spa complete with a wet sauna and steam room, there are a plethora of things to keep the groom occupied.
The Lone Star Mansion offers plenty of parking for guests. Our staff will meet them at the parking site with golf carts, giving them a nice view of the property as they head up to the ceremony site. These golf carts are also available to help transport guests back to their car, ensuring safety and ease of movement on the large property.
