bride and her daughter

At our South FortWorth wedding venue some brides prefer to have an adults-only wedding while others look for ways to include kids in every aspect of their wedding. There’s no right way to do it, however if you are a parent or even an aunt here are some sweet ways to include kids in your wedding.

INCLUDE THEM IN THE PRE-WEDDING GLAM

If you love being around kids, then having them be part of getting ready can be special time. They will be as happy as you to be part of the excitement of getting ready with the bridal party. Give them a special outfit to wear and include them in the getting ready photos for some fun candid shots.

HAVE THEM WALK DOWN THE AISLE WITH YOU OR WALK YOU DOWN THE AISLE

A good way to incorporate a child into the wedding that is too shy or too little to walk down the aisle alone is to hold them as you walk down the aisle–be prepared for all the awes. Or if you don’t have someone who can walk you down the aisle, have them stand in for you.

HAVE THEM PERFORM A SPEECH OR READING

For older kids who have an outgoing personality giving them the opportunity to tell the story of your love through their eyes can be both hilarious and emotional.

INCLUDE THEM IN YOUR VOWS

Nothing is more touching to a child who’s parent is getting married or remarried to be told that you will love and take care of them for the rest of your life. You can even give them something special like a necklace or teddy they can have a reminder of your love and vow to them. Just make sure everyone has tissues.
